Scholars are given time at the beginning of each class to write their homework and upcoming deadlines in their agenda. This is an opportunity for you to look and see what you scholar is responsible for and
doing in school. It is also a communicaiton tool between teacher and parent.
Test are given at the end of each chapter in Math and Scinece. Students are notified several days in advance of upcoming tests. The dates are listed on the class calendar which student receive at the beginning of the month.
We have science quizzes about once every 7-10 school days. The
dates are on the paper calendar handed out in class and they are also on the webpage called 'Class Calendar.' The best way to study for a science quiz is to reread the section from the textbook, have a friend or parent quiz you on the new vocabulary (highlighted in the textbook) and finally go over all homework assignments such as DRW, section reviews and standards checks.
We have math quizzes ( or HWAs- Home Work Assessments) about once every 4-5 school days. The dates are on the paper calendar handed out in class and they are also on the webpage called 'Class Calendar.' The best way to study for a math quiz is to review the notes in your spiral notebook and to redo some of the homework problems. If you have access to the internet you can go to www.PHschool.com and take an online 'lesson quiz' for the sections that will be on the quiz!
To study for the chapter tests, study the section quizzes that are going to be covered in the chapter test! I would not use valuable study time rereading the chapter or going over old homework. Remember at least 75% of the test questions come from the quizzes!!!
